Your LG TV has a memory that allows you to customize TV channels displayed. Instead of having to remember all of the channel offerings provided by cable or over your antenna, and then manually typing in each channel, you can run an LG TV channel scan and then surf through each channel using the "Channel Up" or "Channel Down" button on your remote control. There are two ways to customize channels on LG TV; you can run the "Auto Program" feature or you can run the "Manual Program" feature.
Auto Program

Step 1
Choose the "Menu" button on your LG TV remote control.

Scroll down to select "Channel" and press "Enter."

Use the arrow buttons on your remote control to highlight "Auto Program." Hit "Enter" and the TV will begin to customize TV channels by saving channels you receive either through your antenna or through cable into your TV memory. It saves channels in ascending numerical order.
Step 4
Press the "A.PROG" button on your LG TV remote control to run the "Auto Program" feature automatically, without navigating through the television menu.
Step 5
Select the "Menu" button on your LG TV remote control to stop automatically programming channels.
Manual Program
Step 1
Turn your LG TV to the television channel you want to manually program. You can type the channel number into your remote control or you can use the "Channel Up" or "Channel Down" buttons on your remote control to turn to the channel.
Step 2
Press the "Memory/Erase" button on your LG TV remote control once to display the "Memory/Erase" information on the screen.
Step 3
Highlight the option you want for that channel. If you want the channel programmed into your TV memory, hit "Memory." If you want the channel deleted from your TV memory, hit "Erase."
Step 4
Hit the "OK" button on your remote control to complete the manual programming of that channel.

Repeat these steps for each channel you want to manually program when you customize TV channels on an LG TV.
