Adding a cursive signature to your email lends a sense of authority.

Emails are increasingly replacing letters as a form of written communication as well as becoming an acceptable means of formal correspondence. Many business and domestic email users have created signatures for their emails, which lend authority and a sense of formality to the text. Creating your own signature, in a cursive or "handwritten" style, can give your emails a professional appearance and improve presentation. For business, cursive signatures can provide a sense of uniformity and consistency from email to email.
