When you order a new Samsung phone online, either as a new line of service or as an upgrade to an existing account, you must activate the new phone through the service provider before you can begin making and receiving phone calls. Activation is a simple process and carriers allow you to activate online or by calling their customer service line.
Activate With AT&T

Step 1
Install your SIM card into the cell phone and place the phone on the charger for eight hours.

Press and hold the "End" key to turn on the device.
Step 3
Enter a phone number on the dial pad and press the "Send" key to place a test call. If the call works, the device is active and requires no further steps.
Step 4
Call 866-895-1099 from a phone other than your cell phone. When prompted, provide your wireless phone number, billing ZIP code and Social Security number. Follow the prompts to complete your activation and end the call.
Activate With Sprint
Step 1
Insert the battery and plug the device into the charger until the device is fully charged.
Step 2
Log on to the Sprint website and enter your login name and password under the "My Sprint" tab.
Step 3
Click the "Activate a new phone" link under the "I want to" navigation tab.
Step 4
Unplug the device and remove the battery. Locate the DEC, HEX or IMEI listed under the battery inside the device. Enter this code into the text box.
Step 5
Enter your email address into the text bock and click "OK" to activate your phone.
Activate With Verizon Wireless
Step 1
Insert the battery and plug the device into the charger until the battery has a full charge.
Step 2
Log on to Verizon Wireless' activation website.
Step 3
Unplug the device and remove the battery. Locate the ESN/MEID number listed underneath the battery on the device.
Step 4
Enter your cell phone number, billing ZIP code and the ESN/MEID number into the text boxes and click "Continue." Enter the order number from your receipt on the next page and follow the prompts to complete your activation.
