YouTube is a popular video-sharing website. Thanks to the wide variety of Internet-ready television sets and TV-accessory products such as Blu-ray players, watching YouTube videos on your TV is as convenient as ever. If you have an Internet ready Blu-ray player hooked up to your TV, you can use the player to access the Web and stream YouTube videos to your television set.
Step 1
Refer to your Blu-ray player's specifications to verify that the Blu-ray player you are using is Internet ready. Only Internet-ready Blu-ray players can be used to connect to YouTube. If your Blu-ray player is equipped with an Ethernet port it is likely Web capable. An Ethernet port is the jack used to connect a device to the Internet via wire. It looks like a small, rectangular hole with a two-story pyramid on one of the sides, depending upon how the port is oriented. It's generally labeled "Ethernet" or "LAN."

Step 2
Connect the Blu-ray player to your home network. This is accomplished in different ways depending upon the brand and model of your Blu-ray player and whether you prefer to use a wired or wireless connection.
For a wired connection, use an Ethernet cable to connect the Ethernet port on the back of the Blu-ray player directly to an available Ethernet port on your router. Alternatively, use one Ethernet cable to connect an Ethernet port on your router to the Ethernet port on a powerline network adapter. Plug the adapter into an electrical wall outlet. Use another Ethernet cable to connect the Blu-ray player's Ethernet port to the Ethernet port on the twin powerline-network adapter. Plug the adapter into an electrical wall outlet. Access the Blu-ray player's "Network Settings" or "Connection Settings" menu. Follow the prompts to complete a wired-network connection setup.
For a wireless connection you must be using a wireless router. Access the Blu-ray player's "Network Settings" or "Connection Settings" menu. Follow the prompts to complete a wireless-network connection setup.
Step 3
Open your Blu-ray player menu. Locate and select the "YouTube" app. Many Internet-ready Blu-ray players come with a YouTube app already installed on the player. With some Blu-ray players, however, you may be required to install the YouTube app on your player.
