Recording TV programs from an antenna signal requires a device such as a VCR, DVR, DVD recorder or even a computer with video recording software installed. The recording device connects to the TV with standard audio-video cables, then the television is tuned to the desired channel. Components with a programming feature, such as a DVR or VCR, can be set in advance to record programs days or even weeks in advance. The cable connection is the same no matter which type of recording device is used with the TV.
Step 1
Connect the yellow, white and red plugs on one end of the composite cables to the color-matching video and audio OUT jacks on the back of the TV.

Step 2
Plug the other end of the cables to the video and audio IN jacks on a recording device. When using a computer, connect the plugs to the capture card jacks on the back of the central processing unit.
Step 3
Tune the TV to the desired channel for recording.
Step 4
Set up the recording device to capture the TV program. For example, load a blank VHS tape in the VCR if recording to videotape, or place a blank recordable DVD in the media tray of a DVD recorder. With a DVR, press the "Menu" button and use the up and down arrow keys to select the "Record" function. When using a computer, open the video recording software by double-clicking the name of the program.
Step 5
Press the "Record" button on the connected device to begin recording the TV show from the antenna broadcast.
