A PAR file can be converted to AVI with the help of a conversion program.

PAR (Parchive) is a file extension for an open-source software project that creates parity file formats. These kinds of files use a forward error correction-style system that supports data recovery when information is deleted accidentally or corrupted. AVI (Audio Video Interleave) is a multimedia container file extension and format originally made by Microsoft. AVI files contain both audio and video data in a data container, allowing synchronized audio-video playback.

In order to convert a PAR file to an API, a conversion program must be used. Several of these are available online as free trial downloads.
