Zip your KML files into KMZ files.
If you enjoy using Google Earth to figure out where you need to go, then you may want to convert your KML files to KMZ files. KML files are specific data files that are displayed in Google Earth. KMZ files are the zipped version of the KML files. Converting KML files into KMZ files requires a zip program such as as WinZip or WinRar.
Step 1
Open a file zipping program such as WinZip or WinRar.

Open your KML file in the zipping program.
Step 3
Save the file as a "KMZ" file. The zipping program will convert your KML file into a zipped KMZ file.
