Although YouTube does not allow songs to be uploaded without an accompanying visual element (e.g. picture or video), you can easily download just the audio from a YouTube video by using an online audio-video converter. Websites like CatchYouTube.com, Video2MP3.net and Media-Convert.com allow users to copy and paste the desired YouTube video's URL into the appropriate field on their website, and will retrieve and convert the audio automatically. Once conversion is complete, users can download their audio, free of charge.

Step 1
Launch your Web browser and direct it to the YouTube song you want saved to your computer.

Open a new tab or window and visit CatchYouTube.com.

Copy and paste the YouTube song's URL into the "URL" field at CatchYouTube.com.

Select the ".mp3" or ".wav" convert option, located in the "Convert To" box.
