How to Copy & Paste a Hyperlink

You can copy and paste hyperlinks in a few clicks.

Copying and pasting a hyperlink is a very simple process that is done in much the same way that you would copy and paste any text--hyperlink or not. Depending on what you want to paste the hyperlink into, the link may or may not work after it is pasted. For example, pasting a hyperlink into a simple text document will likely not preserve the link, whereas pasting the link into a web browser almost certainly will.

Step 1

Scroll over the hyperlink while holding down your left mouse button. This will select the hyperlink and the text. To choose only the hyperlink--without the text--move your cursor on top of the link, right-click and select "Copy link location."

Hit "Ctrl" + "C" on your keyboard to copy the hyperlink.

Step 3

Open the document or location into which you want to paste the hyperlink.

Select "Ctrl" + "V." You have now pasted the hyperlink.
