How to Factory Restore a Toshiba Tecra

Tecra is often tagged the "performance laptop" by its manufacturer, Toshiba. In other words, Tecra is designed for users who multitask in a business environment. A factory restore is a common technique to fix errors that cannot otherwise be cured or to get rid of malware that cannot be removed by an anti-malware program. Factory restore is always your last resort because you lose all data when you perform a factory restore. Please back up all important data on an external storage device before performing this task.

Step 1

Press and hold down the power button for about 10 seconds to turn off your Tecra laptop.

Press and hold the "0" button, and while doing so, push the power button to turn the laptop on.

Release the "0" key when you hear beeps.

Step 4

Choose "Yes" when confirm system recovery.

Step 5

Choose the option "Recovery of Factory Default Software." Click "Next."

Step 6

Choose the option "Recover to out-of-box state" and click "Next." This will literally restore your Tecra to its state when you first took it out of the box.

Step 7

Select "Next" to start the factory restore. Follow the on-screen guided prompts to complete the task.
