iPhone users can set up call forwarding right from their device if they're on GSM networks such as AT&T and T-Mobile. Those who are on CDMA networks such as Verizon and Sprint will need to follow their carrier's instructions for setting up call forwarding. Forward calls on your GSM iPhone by tapping the "Settings" option and then tapping "Phone." Tap the "On" button and then tap "Forward to." Type in the phone number that you'd like to forward calls to. Tap the "Call Forwarding" button again to have all calls automatically forwarded. You can turn off call forwarding at any time by going back to "Settings," then "Phone," and tapping the "On/Off" button to the "Off" position to switch it off.

Forward Calls on Android

Android users can also set up call forwarding from their Android phones if they're on a GSM network. As with iPhone users, Android users need to follow their carrier's instructions for setting up call forwarding on CDMA networks. Forward calls on your GSM Android phone by tapping the "Phone" app icon on your home screen and then tapping the "..." menu button. Tap "Settings" and then tap on "Call forwarding." Tap to either "Always forward," "Forward when busy," "Forward when unanswered," or "Forward when unreached." The option you select depends on what type of call forwarding you want to activate. Type your forwarding number and then tap either "Enable" or "OK" to forward calls on Android. You can turn it off by going back to this section and tapping the "Off" button next to "Call Forwarding."

Forward Calls on Verizon

Verizon iPhone and Android users need to follow Verizon's method for turning on call forwarding. You can still do this from your device, but it involves dialing a specific code to do it. Open the "Phone" app on your Verizon smart phone and dial *72 followed by the phone number that you'd like to forward calls to. Tap the "Call" button and listen for Verizon's confirmation tone or message. End the call to enable call forwarding on that device. You can turn off call forwarding by dialing *73 and tapping "Call." Wait for Verizon's confirmation that the forwarding has been turned off and then end your call.

Forward Calls on AT&T

What if you don't have a smart phone like the Android or iPhone on AT&T but still want to forward all incoming calls to another cellphone? You can still do it, but how you do it will depend on the type of forwarding you want to enable. Forward all calls by dialing *72 and the phone number you want to forward to and pressing the "Call" button. Wait for AT&T's confirmation message that call forwarding is active and then hang up. Use *62 to forward all calls that come in while you're busy talking to someone else, or use *92 to forward all calls that come in when you don't answer the phone. You can deactivate call forwarding for these options by dialing *73, *63 and *93, respectively.
