If you have a video on your Mac that's saved in the MOV format but you find it is too big for your purposes, you can make a smaller version of the MOV. For example, you have a video that you want to send someone, but you don't want to spend a long time transmitting a large file, or you want to make a smaller MOV so it won't take up a lot of room on your iPhone. Apple installs the free QuickTime application on every Mac, which you can use to play MOV files as well as export them as smaller versions.
