The Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game utilizes a player mat that simplifies combat. When engaging in a duel, players place their cards in the prescribed place of the player mat. If you already have the image you want to use as your Yu-Gi-Oh! playmat, transfer the image to a mat of appropriate thickness using transfer paper. If you do not yet have an image, print out a full-size image of a commercial playmat.
Step 1
Download a Yu-Gi-Oh! playmat template from a fan or art website.

Step 2
Right-click on the downloaded image file and scroll to "Open With." Select a PDF viewer such as Finder or Adobe Reader.
Step 3
Click on the "File" menu and scroll to "Print Preview." Ensure that the image fits on a single sheet of paper. Typically, Yu-Gi-Oh! mats are 9 inches by 11 inches--too long for a single sheet of paper. If the picture is too large, use the crop tool to shorten it slightly. Do not re-size the image.
Step 4
Insert a sheet of transfer paper upside down in printer. Press the "Print" button and click on the "Settings" tab. Check the box next to "Transfer Paper" and press "Print." If the printer does not have a "Transfer Paper" option, use the "Flip Horizontal" tool to create a mirror image of the paper.
Step 5
Remove transfer paper from the printer. Place the paper on the mat face down. Iron the paper, pressing onto an area of the paper for about one minute.
Step 6
Wait 20 to 30 minutes, allowing the paper to cool. Remove the paper and allow your mat to dry for several hours.
