Whether your Asus Eee PC is experiencing severe operating system errors, or you simply want a clean slate, the manual factory reset procedure is a simple solution. Initiating a computer reset will restore your Eee netbook to its original factory condition.
Step 1
Turn off your computer. If the operating system is frozen, initiate a hard system shutdown by holding down the power button for four to six seconds.

Remove the AC power adapter. Disconnect the adapter from both the electrical outlet and your Eee PC.
Step 3
Slide the battery lock on the bottom of the unit to an unlock position. Remove the battery.
Step 4
Locate the reset button on the bottom of the laptop. It is a pin hole button that requires a small pointy device, such as a paperclip, to depress.
Step 5
Press and hold down the reset button for 10 seconds.
Step 6
Reconnect you Eee PC's battery and power adapter. Press the power button to start the computer and confirm that the manual reset is complete.
