Partition encryption on your Kingston flash drive protects the stored data, but sometimes you want to forgo the protection of an encrypted partition in lieu of a general partition that can be read by anyone. Remove encrypted status from the partition of your drive by formatting the partition using a non-encrypted standard, a process that takes just minutes to complete.
Step 1
Plug the Kingston drive into the computer.

Click "Start" and select "Computer."

Right-click the letter of the Kingston drive and select "Format."
Step 4
Select a non-encrypted file system such as NTFS or FAT32 from the drop down menu and press "Enter" to reformat the drive, removing encryption.
