Python is a scripting language that runs on many different operating systems. Python is capable of managing and parsing files, pruning databases, performing calculations, displaying graphical windows and rendering graphics for basic games. Running a Python script requires installing the Python interpreter on your system.

Step 1

Open your Web browser and visit www.python.org/download/releases.

Select the latest version of Python from the top of the list, then scroll down to the bottom of the next page and select the Windows x86 installation file.

Step 3

Save the Python installation file to your desktop, then double-click it to open it.

Step 4

Select "Install for All Users" and then click "Next" twice.

Step 5

Make sure "Register Extensions" is selected from the list of install options, then click "Next" to install Python.

Step 6

Open the folder containing your Python script and double-click the file to automatically run it.
