If you want to use the VLC Media Player with your TV, there are a few steps you need to do. First you must set up Windows to show separate displays correctly. Then you need to set the VLC, so it will appear on the TV rather than your standard monitor. This process is useful if you have a television close to your computer and you want to watch your computer digital media on your larger screen, rather than the small screen of your computer.

Step 1

Connect your TV to the graphics card on the back of your computer. If you use an HDTV then connect a HDMI cable or if you have a standard definition TV use a VGA cable. These will often be provided with your video card. Start your computer.
