There are three ways you can connect your PS3 to a Samsung television. If you have a Samsung TV that supports high definition, you will want to connect the PS3 using the HDMI cable or the component video connection for the best picture quality. If your Samsung television doesn't support HDTV, then you will use the A/V cable that comes with the PS3 and plug them into the yellow, red and white inputs on the back of the set.
Using HDMI cable

Step 1
Locate the HDMI input on the back of your Samsung television. It is a flat input that will be labeled "HDMI In."

Step 2
Insert the plug on the end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI input on the back of your Samsung television. If it doesn't fit easily, do not force it. Instead, take out the plug, turn it around and try again. The HDMI plug is designed to only go into the input one way.
Step 3
Insert the other end of the HDMI cable into the PS3 unit where it is labeled "HDMI In." This is the only cable you will need to connect because both the audio and the video are transferred through the HDMI cable.
Using Component A/V cable
Step 1
Find the connection on the PS3 labeled "A/V Multi In" and insert the flat end of the component A/V cable into the slot.
Step 2
Locate the component video input on the back of your Samsung TV. There will be five separate inputs; the video inputs will be colored red, blue and green and there will be two audio inputs colored red and white.
Step 3
Plug the audio plugs on the component A/V cable into the audio input on the back of the television. There will be red and white plugs that are separate from the video plugs at the end of the cable. Insert the red plug into the red input and the white plug into the white input.
Step 4
Connect the video plugs on the end of the component A/V cable into the video input on the Samsung television. Insert the green plug into the green input, the blue plug into the blue input and the red plug into the red input.

Step 3
Insert the yellow video plug on the A/V cable into the yellow video input on the television.
Step 4
