Samsung SyncMaster monitors come in a variety of sizes and models for use with computers or other home or business equipment, such as video game consoles and television receivers. All models turn on by the same method, via a button on the monitor's front control panel. Some also feature an additional power switch that you must turn on for the power button to work.
Step 1
Confirm that you have the power cord for your Samsung SyncMaster Monitor plugged securely into the back of the monitor and in an electrical socket.

Press the "Power" button, marked with an icon that looks like a short vertical line sticking out of the top of a circle.
Step 3
Turn the monitor around to the back and look for an "ON/OFF" switch if your monitor won't turn on. Typically the switch rests near the port for the power cord. Flip the rear switch to the "ON" position and then press the "Power" button again to turn the monitor on.
