Computer users have the option to either hide or show the taskbar located at the bottom of their computer screen as they are working. A taskbar typically contains the "Start" menu, the "Quick Launch" bar, the "taskbar" buttons and the "notification area." It is used to launch programs and monitor currently running applications. Step 1
Click the bottom of your screen to view the hidden taskbar. Right-click a blank section of the taskbar and click Properties from the pop-up menu. The "Taskbar Properties" window will appear.

Uncheck the "Auto Hide" check box located under the "Taskbar Properties" tab by clicking with your mouse once. Click the "Apply" button to reflect the changes you made.

Click "OK" to close the window.
Windows XP/Vista/7
