How to Use an iPhone As a USB Drive Without iTunes

The iPhone is sold with four to 32 gigabytes of storage space. If you want to take advantage of this storage space and use the iPhone as a USB drive, you can download several third-party transfer applications on your computer that will enable this feature. In addition, these third-party applications offer a working alternative to using iTunes to transfer information to your iPhone.

Step 1

Download and install a third-party transfer application on your computer that allows you to use your iPhone as a USB drive (See Resources). iPhone Explorer, DiskAid and Xilisoft iPhone Transfer are three such applications.

Open the third-party transfer application on your computer.

Attach the iPhone cable to the port located at the bottom of your iPhone. Connect the other end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer.

Step 4

Select your computer's hard drive from the file-transfer application.

Select the files you want to transfer to your iPhone. You can select a single file or multiple files.

Step 6

Click the "Transfer" button to download the files from your computer to your iPhone.
