When you click "play" on a Dailymotion video, you expect the video to play right away. However, when the video does not play, there is either a problem with the video itself or your computer. Dailymotion is one of several video sharing websites that feature uploads from amateur and professional videographers. Once you understand the reasons why video clips fail to play, you gain the ability to fix the problem yourself.
Flash Not Installed
Video of the Day
Dailymotion's videos are encoded in the Flash video format by Adobe. Therefore, to watch videos on Dailymotion, you must have the Flash plugin installed. Otherwise, you will see a black screen and get no video or audio when you click "Play." The Flash Player is downloaded from Adobe's website.

Flash Plugin Disabled
You may have the Flash player plugged in, but that does not mean the videos automatically work. Whether you are using Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Opera, the Flash plugin must be enabled for Dailymotion videos to work. Plugins are enabled using your browser's settings menu.
Slow Connection
Your videos might not be playable because of a slow connection speed or a slow processor, according to the Dailymotion website. When either case is the scenario, the videos may not play at all, or they may play slowly. Pausing the video allows your computer to download the video. After the video is downloaded, play it.
Browser Restart
If you have ruled out the Flash Plugin as the problem with Dailymotion videos, restarting the browser will likely solve any problems playing the videos. Simply closing the tab that contains the Dailymotion video does not solve the problem. The browser is restarted by completely shutting it down and starting it again.
