Live stream video is video and audio content broadcast in real-time over the Internet. It's similar in concept to live broadcast TV. Live stream video can be recorded in one of two ways. A screen capture application may be used to record the video on your computer. Or you could send the video and audio signal from your computer to an external video recording device, such as a DVD recorder.

Right-click on a space on the desktop free of icons and select "Personalize" from the shortcut menu. Click "Screen Saver" to open the Screen Saver Properties box

Open the "Screen Saver" drop-down menu.

Select "None" to turn the screen saver feature off.
Capture Live Stream Video Using Expression Encoder
Step 1
Download and install Microsoft's Expression Encoder onto the computer (see the link in the Resources).
Step 2
Open the Start menu. Select "Computer." Navigate to the "c:\Program Files\Microsoft Expression\Encoder" directory. Double-click "EEScreen.exe" to launch the Expression Encoder screen capture tool.
Step 3
Launch the Web browser. Go to the Web page streaming the live video you want to record.
Step 4
Click the Record icon on the Expression Encoder tool (looks like a red circle). Red crosshairs should appear on the screen. Use the mouse to adjust the red crosshairs so that they frame the window showing the live stream video.
Step 5
Click the Record icon again on the Expression Encoder toolbar to begin recording the live stream video. To end the recording, click the Stop icon.
Set Up to Record Live Stream Using DVD Recorder or VCR
Step 1
Use a VGA cable to link the VGA port on the computer's hard drive to the VGA Input port on the converter. Use another VGA cable to connect the converter's VGA Output port to the VGA port on the computer monitor.
Step 2
Insert one end of a composite video cable into the converter's composite video out port. Connect the other end of the cable to the composite video in a port on the VCR or DVD recorder.
Step 3
Plug the stereo plug end of a stereo to RCA Y cable into the computer's Line Out or headphone jack. Plug the other end of the cable with the red and white RCA plugs into the red and white (respectively) Audio In jacks on the VCR or DVD recorder.
Step 4
Use the "Input" or "Source" button on the DVD Recorder or VCR remote control to change the device's video input channel to the AV source.
Capture Live Stream Video Using DVD Recorder or VCR
Step 1
Load a blank DVD-R disc or VHS tape into the DVD recorder or VCR.
Step 2
Launch the Web browser on your computer. Go to the Web page streaming the live video you want to record.
Step 3
Mouse-over the bottom edge of the video's window. A menu of icons should appear. Click the "Full Screen."
Step 4
Press "Record" on the DVD recorder or VCR to begin recording the live stream video. Push "Stop" to end the recording.
