Dell's Latitude laptop line comes with Windows XP or Vista 7 pre-installed, depending on when you purchased your laptop. All of these Microsoft Windows operating systems have a startup mode named "Safe Mode." When you boot a computer in safe mode, the computer loads only those drivers that the operating system requires. This makes troubleshooting driver conflicts, virus infections and other problems on a computer much easier.
