What Are Promo Credits on IMVU?

You earn 1,000 promo credits simply by creating a new account on IMVU, and 500 more by verifying your email address after creating your account. You can also earn additional promo credits by performing specific actions, such as inviting your friends to join you on IMVU through the official referral program, "liking" IMVU on Facebook, installing the IMVU toolbar, downloading the IMVU app to your iPhone or participating in partner offers. You can always find a summary of all the current ways to earn promo credits by hovering over the "Credits" button in the menu at the top of the IMVU website and clicking "Earn Credits."

Promo credits are spent exactly like normal credits. While logged in to the IMVU website, you can see your current amount of promo credits in the information bar at the top of each page. Browse through the IMVU item catalog; when you find an item you like, simply click the "Buy Now" button.

If you have both normal credits and promo credits and purchase an item, normal credits will be spent first; you will only be able to use promo credits to purchase items if you have no normal credits. Additionally, you can't transfer promo credits to a different account, use them to play games, use them to buy items as a gift for another user, use them to buy shout outs, or use them to buy music. If you are a content creator, you can't use promo credits to pay the submitting fee when you upload an item to the IMVU catalog.
