Deep scratches in your computer screen can be distracting and irritating, but rather than buy a new monitor, you can try repairing the current one. Lighter scratches may be removed using a pencil eraser or rubbing alcohol, but deeper scratches require a substance that can sink all the way into the surface.

  1. Using the microfiber cloth, gently wipe the computer screen until it is clean.
  2. Remove some petroleum jelly from the container using a cotton swab.
  3. Rub the petroleum jelly directly on the scratch until the scratch is completely filled.
  4. Wipe the excess petroleum jelly off the screen.
