Norstar Communications is a division of the Nortel company, which manufactures a variety of electronic products but is best known for its multi-functional telephone systems used in offices in the United States. The administrator password on Norstar phone systems is used to log in and make changes to settings on the phone. You can change the administrator password on your Norstar telephone directly through the phone key pad.
Reset to Default

Step 1
Press the "Feature" button on the Norstar unit. Enter the digits "985." The phone will display "Set: (Your" once the feature code has been entered.

Tap the "9" key on the phone to display "PSWD." Enter the code "73738767793."
Step 3
Push the "YES" button on the unit when the "RESET PSWD?" message appears on the display screen. The message "Password Reset" will appear in the phone display and the password will be returned to its default setting, based upon your model of phone.
Step 4
Press the "Feature" button again and enter "983" into the phone system. "LOG" appears on the screen. Enter the default password for the phone system. The default password on a system that used two-digit extensions is "120000," the password on a three-digit phone system is "1020000," and the password on a four-digit phone system is "10020000."
Change to New Password
Step 1
Press the key with the Norstar symbol on the phone terminal, then the star key twice and enter "266344" to get into password configuration. "Password" appears on the display.
Step 2
Key in the default password for your Norstar phone system. "Terminals & Sets" should appear on the screen.
Step 3
Hit "Next" on the keypad until "Hospitality" appears on the screen and press the "Show" button. The "Admin" password, also called the "Desk" password, shows on the screen.
Step 4
Touch the button below the "Change" option that appears on the display screen. "New Password" appears in the display.
Step 5
Type in the password that you would like to use for the phone and press the button under "OK."
