
How to Convert a Zip File into a Word File

Files with a zip file extension are archive files that can contain many other files within them. If you have a zip file that you believe contains a Word document, instead of converting the zip file, you need to decompress and extract the zip file. Windows 7 as an inbuilt decompression tool to handle zip file archives and so you do not need to use any third-party software to convert the file to a Word file.
Step 1
Locate the zip file on your computer.

Double-click the zip file to open a virtual folder of the files.
Step 3
Click and drag the Word document to your desktop or another folder.
Step 4
Double-click the Word document to use it.
