Many functions of Samsung HDTV models rely on the television's clock being set. The clock settings affect timer features and can affect recording if the TV is linked to a DVR or other recording device. When the clock is set, a viewer can also check the time on the television screen with a click on the remote. The clock on Samsung TV models can be set manually or automatically if the set is connected to a digital signal such as a cable box.
